CCOCA Centre County Orphan Care Alliance
Centre County Orphan Care Alliance (CCOCA) is comprised of representatives of CityChurch and other Centre County Christian churches.

CCOCA exists to make believers aware of the plight of the fatherless locally and globally and to motivate every believer to engage in their responsibility to care for the fatherless.

“Defend the cause of the fatherless.” Isaiah 1:17

Our Purpose:

In Centre County, we seek to…
● Ensure that every Christian is aware of the plight of the fatherless locally and globally.
● Motivate every believer to engage in their responsibility to care for the fatherless.
● Provide biblically-based resources and material support to help create well-equipped homes for every fatherless child in Centre County.

Statistics: (As of May 2017)

Approximately 74 Children are in the custody of Centre County through Children and Youth Services
These children are living with either foster families or in residential facilities, often due to circumstances involving abuse or neglect.

33 of the children are age 5 and under

41 children are 6 years of age or older

  • 42 have a foster family to live with here in Centre County
  • 15 children are placed outside of Centre County because we currently do not have foster homes available for them or they are placed in.
  • 17 children reside in group homes or residential facilities and may need a local foster family when they are discharged to a lower level of care.
  • There are 16 sibling groups currently in placement.  9 of these sibling groups could not be placed in the same foster home.

In part thanks to our efforts, this past year 22 children and youth found permanency through adoption and 6 more children found permanency through legal custodianship with their foster families representing an increase of 16  forever families compared to the prior year.

There are over 39 local children on the waiting list for Big Brothers / Big Sisters.
                  * 30 of these children have never had a match
Overall, there are more than 120 children locally who need our attention, direction and support.......Right now!

There are 175 churches in Centre County...
